It started with aluminum flashing left over from a chimney repair. I tried to make a printable relief, which failed. A blacksmith friend Larry Cooper saw, told me about repousse/chasing and made me three tools which resulted in the RedHerrings: http://www.absolutearts.com/kelen/additional-artwork/l-kelen-9.html Driven by curiosity, I bought Oppi Untracht's book, "Metal Techniques for Craftsmen" at half.com, found http://www.rocioheredia.com and http://www.valentinyotkov.com/ on the internet showing me what some fine chasing/repousse was... bought a set of chasing tools off ebay... some pitch from http://www.northwestpitchworks.com/contact_order.html , and Marcia Lewis' book "Chasing"....and I'm just having a good time. Scattered, resourceful, self-supporting by-product of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Being an artist is a condition with which I've learned to live. It is terminal.
