Metal Heads in Progress...and a honey bee bracelet!

Really not all that sure what to do with these, yet.
I feel there are more needing to appear.
One by one, their population will grow.

I will enjoy having a pocket full of them!
AND!
I just finished this Bee Bracelet...
It's someones Christmas present...
I'm so happy with it...I had to post it!!

I'm hoping for better photos...well, the best I can do.
Yes...the heads...all my chasing is done freehand...
it's the only way!

WoodHeads

Here are the remaining finials....
the WoodHeads.
I will post better photos of them when I get a chance.
These were shot quickly for someone
wanting to see what was left after the Fall Art Tour.
Some of them are not yet finished.

Hurricane damaged islands

Here are a handful of the "island pictures"
I showed during the 2017 Fall Art Tour in Southwest Wisconsin.
I was artist #22, with an open studio.
I never expected to be showing these to anyone.
I did them just for me,
but after the Hurricanes, I didn't see how I could NOT share with people
what I saw and felt in these islands and in the people.
I wanted to remember what was lost,
and show those who never have visited what they missed.
Yes, this is all through my eyes.
I'm better with paper and colors than a camera.
The pictures generated stories and memories
hushed voices, some tears,
but mostly people were amazed by what I feel
to be very real colors and a unique rhythm.

2017 Fall Art Tour

I'm still reorganizing, rearranging and reclaiming my work space

which has to happen first
before I get around to downloading the photos
that I'll post here so you can see either where you were and what you saw,
or what you missed.

I have posted the remaining 18 TICK cards on EBAY...

 Thank-you everyone who stopped by!
It was a good Fall Art Tour.

but now seems to be a time to share them.

Fall Art Tour Artist #22 realizes a sensible working order

 (yes, this mornings realization:
Avoid printing the woodblocks NOW
and airborne sawdust
will not become fastened to wet ink! )

I'm Artist #22 this year!

Jewelers Guild is up and running.

It was a great opening.
Amazing numbers of people.
I wish I had a counter on my mouth to know how many words I spoke.
I'll keep posting here for a while as I catch up to photos and short videos.
2408 E. St. Francis Ave St. Francis, WI 53235
Short videos were made throughout the event giving you a sense of the place.
I'll post them when I find them.
Yes, it was a good event.
I'll post more as it comes to me.
The Jewelers Guild will have a good set up in the class room,
where I and others will be able to teach
whatever it is that each of us do.
I will teach my way of chasing and repousse.
Others will teach their ways.
There will be enameling, and torch firing,
and stone setting,
and pretty much anything you can think of.

Jewelry Lovers Paradise opens in St. Francis!

For immediate release:
April 20, 2017
St. Francis ,WI

Jewelry Lovers Paradise opens in St. Francis! On the south end of Bay View, lies the Jewelers Guild LLC.

The Jewelers Guild is the most unique jewelry business of its kind anywhere!
For the jewelry obsessed, imagine an enterprise that features a retail jewelry store, a state of the art jeweler’s workshop, and a jewelry classroom with classes available for all skill levels and ages. The Jewelers Guild provides the ability for people to learn, create and sell - all under one roof.

The Jewelers Guild offers the community all the typical services of a traditional jewelry store: appraisals, repairs, stringing, creating unique one of a kind and custom jewelry and of course, custom designs. Look through the glass to see the fascinating view of a jewelers’ workshop, where you can see the pieces created and made. Open yourself to the world of gems and jewelry at the Jewelers Guild.

The Jewelers Guild is a studio style workshop that encompasses all types and styles of metalsmithing, including goldsmiths and silversmiths. Made and designed by jewelers for jewelers, Jewelers Guild LLC has been created for access and success. Not only do we offer state of the art tools and equipment, but access and opportunities for selling and teaching, surpassing your expectations. A jeweler’s growth can be held up by lack of access; faced with a needed tool that was out of their grasp, the tool that would make their next step, a device to make their next jewelry creation come alive. We like to think we have left nothing out in terms of offering tools and equipment which are far beyond the basics. More than user friendly, as any jeweler knows, “You can’t create great jewelry without the right equipment!” Working together with likeminded artists and craftsmen, the Jewelers Guild studio and workshop provides a cooperative dynamic that is both unique and exciting.

Explore the Jewelers Guild’s unique shop. By carving a retail space in the same building as our studio, our goal is to personally connect to our customers. Our retail space gives you access to a myriad of jewelry designs created under the same roof. Stop in and see an exciting array of styles reflective of each of our makers.
Join in our exciting workshops and classes. Fuel your passion for wearing and making jewelry. We offer a myriad of classes for all ages and abilities. Create a pair of earrings, forge a bracelet, or make your own wedding ring! Learn from Jewelers Guild & other innovative makers from across the country.

Opening early May

"Ready to Build", oil painting

It's the only angle with which
the reflections of the wet paint
weren't quite so bad.
When it's really dry and varnished,
I'll get it photographed properly.
(It's 14" high and 18" wide,
on linen, on board)
